Paul's Visit to iVC Room BA 152 at TTU

Greetings and Welcome to my final post for this course. Here you should find some photo albums, documents, and other information related to Administration of iTV/iVC.... all the way from training of faculty and staff, to instructional design of pedogicial and technical manuals, to marking for job applicants, interviewing, hiring, training, managing, and supporting iVC equipment, personnel, and resources --- a one man band if you will, that was my job.

Important Notes:

If you take a moment to scan down through these images, charts, diagrams, and photos, you might start to wonder whether any of this is sensitive information. Over the winter break from Fall 2006 to Spring 2007, there was a large upgrade in the technology in the COE rooms, as well as a lot of changes to the staff (I left the COE for a position in the College of Business at TTU, in February 2007). Essentially, none of this information is applicable anymore, even though at the time when it was, it was already either accessible via the COE website, posted publicly throughout the building, or being distributed widely via email. Therefore, in even conservative estimates, it can be safely argued that none of the information I have included below is highly sensitive, and is now part of the public domain (in my best judgement).

The purpose of me posting it here is to demonstrate the types of equipment, tasks required, and documentation generated by the bottom tier manager over an iTV/iVC program at Texas Tech University, in the one college (among 11) which conducted and hosted more iTV/iVC events and classes than any other department or college on campus at TTU (at that time). Not only did I host events in the 3 main rooms with permanent equipment installed, but I also had technicians with mobile carts that I had personally setup and configured on the network travelling about the building to facilitate and/or record iVC events and courses in regular classrooms. I had 3 permanent rooms, 4 mobile iVC carts (each with cameras, TV monitors, and conference mics), 5 remote off-campus sites, mutliple (perhaps a dozen) distance ed sites we regularly connected with, and I still wound up having to over-flow into various other rooms at TTU for classes and events. This is attested to by the large excell spreadsheets I used to schedule classes each semester (available below).
