Contact the Architect
Who is the Architect?
Paul Joseph Richardson II, is the designer and speaker behind the voice of this website. Although I am not an architect in the traditional sense of a person who draws buildings and other objects which are to be sold as plans for construction, I am in fact an information technology architect by trade. From time to time, I design enterprise scale plans for computer and networking systems, and have accrued senior level experience in that field, which is sometimes referred to by the designation in job advertisements as "architect".
"The architect" is actually a pun here, used jokingly in reference to the usage of that term in the "Matrix" movie series as the name of the character who was a very well defined entity or intelligent program who had supposed constructed it's own computing environment on a grand scale and thus also provided for the neural stimulation of human-being-batteries farmed by robots.
I don't know a whole lot about AI, but it seems like those guys keep making the rules of the Turing Machine test harder and harder! What are they going to do when somebody designs a program which will be able to win a logical debate regarding the pass/fail status of itself as having met sufficient criteria to be called intelligent?
Anyhow, there seems to be alot of agreement that the really big turning point in the evolution of computer software toward AI, will be the point at which a software program or computer just barely exceeds the intelligence of it's own human creators, at which time it is theorized that it will be able to improve upon it's own design, and thus will suddenly, at an explosive rate, suddenly begin to increase it's own intelligence exponentially (learn things). That point is called the singularity, and that program would probably be somewhat similar to the character called "The Architect" in the Matrix movies.
