Teacher Page
HELPFUL HINTS: Careful attention should be paid by teachers to ensure that students do not get "bogged down" when then begin the actual tasks of editing and creating their own wiki pages for this webquest. Other than that, it also helps for instructors to create a sense of freedom and exploration for this activity.
USAGE: Instructors may at their own discretion use this webquest as a launching point for helping their students understand how a simple wiki works, and for encouraging their students to begin publishing their own works of research, scholarship, and literary art onto the world wide web.
CREDITS: This website was designed using a template (credit for the template is on the bottom orange banner on every page) and in addition is using a few images which were taken from the public domain in accordance with "fair usage" principles. Accordingly, no part of this webquest or the exercise practice wiki accompanying this webquest may be used for commercial or other for-profit or non-educational purposes.
SKILLS: There are no prerequisite skills needed in order to participate in this lab, other than usage of a mouse and keyboard. The type of wiki used in this exercise does not require HTML programming (indeed, HTML is disabled in it at present).
DURATION: This lab is simple enough to be completed within 1 hr, but could be developed into a more advanced set of exercises lasting for several weeks, if the students find the wiki to be fun and easy to use.
